In the near future I have to write my thesis. So I bought the book “Pragmatic Thinking and Learning: Refactor Your Wetware” from Andy Hunt who authored “Pragmatic Programmer” as well.
First of all, buy it!
It offers you a lot knowledge about how your brain is working and it makes fun reading it.
With your head(inner life) it’s the same like with a good tool. When you know how to use it right, you will have a better performance.
He describes the difference between beginners and experts (and some more steps in between) and allows us to recognize our step on the ladder to be an expert. After that my favorite sentence took place (translated from german):
“Only to think your brain has more capacity to learn, allows us exactly this”
Really cool! But that isn’t as easy as it sounds and so Hunt gives you a hand for the way.
At the end of the book there is a card with 48 ideas to refactor you wetware!
You have it, please use it!
