From Idea to production-ready Application in less than 3 months
It took just two and a half months to develop a production-ready application for rollout in all Vaillant Group companies from an initial idea.
As a leading global provider of heat pumps, digital services, and efficient gas-fired heating appliances, the Vaillant Group offers its customers in over 60 countries energy-saving, environmentally friendly technologies for heating, cooling, and hot water.

Initial situation
The Vaillant Group primarily sells heating technology through specialist partners, and the ease of use of the products for these specialist partners is a critical success factor. The customer had already developed an idea for a mobile application based on an analysis of the needs of this target group, with a focus on fault diagnosis and the provision of documentation. The customer initially approached codecentric AG in search of support for their internal team due to a lack of sufficient in-house development capacity in the area of native mobile application development. After preliminary talks, the decision was made to develop digital products and services with the help of a specialized team from codecentric's labs.
Solution
Building on codecentric's product development approach, a joint project team was formed within a very short timeframe, consisting of a product manager from Vaillant, a product management coach from codecentric AG and a rapid application development team from codecentric's labs. The core functions of the application concept were then implemented as an MVP within a few short weeks using daily coordination and the shortest possible feedback cycles. Subsequent development steps added additional functions to the mobile application and prepared it for delivery to the various national companies.
Result
It took just two and a half months to develop a production-ready application for rollout in all Vaillant Group companies from an initial idea. Continuous feedback and close collaboration between the product manager and the development team resulted in an app for one of the customer's strategically important target groups. The positive response to its first public release underscores the confidence that the app will significantly contribute to further improving the Vaillant Group's market position in the heating sector.
