Platform engineering for greater efficiency and innovative power
Use platform engineering to achieve a scalable and efficient development process.
Managing complexity in software development
Today's software development faces numerous challenges. It is essential to recognize potential for efficiency gains at an early stage and to act accordingly. Doing so helps you avoid high costs, long time-to-market periods and unnecessary resource consumption.
- Inefficient processes
Developers send requests to infrastructure specialists manually, which leads to delays and unnecessary effort. - Overwhelming administrative burden
Ticket overload and manual security checks place a strain on your team.
- Persistent silo mentality
Different teams work in isolation and without standardized processes. - Excessive compliance and security requirements
Constantly adapting to new regulations and safety standards eats into valuable time and resources.
Platform engineering offers you the right solution
Leverage automation and standardization over the entire life cycle to reduce repetitive tasks and make processes more efficient. Employees can then focus on their core tasks and implement innovative solutions faster.
Automation and standardization
Automate recurring tasks and standardize your development process, from setting up new projects and life cycle management for all components to security and compliance checks.
Decide what you need
Each development process has its own unique requirements. It is therefore important to carefully examine what steps towards automation and standardization really add value.
Initial successes with a minimal viable platform
Are you ready to take the first steps towards platform engineering? It doesn't always have to be a big, costly project. We will work with you to rapidly develop an initial version of your internal developer platform – a minimal viable platform (MVP) – that adds value.
Four steps to launching effective software development
Start with a minimal viable platform (MVP) initiative that allows you to quickly demonstrate the individual value of platform engineering for your organization – without the risk of investing a great deal of time and effort.
Working together with you, we will develop a reference architecture for your platform, which will enable us to map basic infrastructure resources and other components and use them as a framework for the future development of the platform. This does not yet take place in your production environment.
Using KPIs as a data-driven basis for decision-making, you can subsequently expand your minimal viable platform (MVP), meaning you can continuously develop it. We will of course be happy to guide you through this process.
Step 1: Discovery & design phase
We start by conducting an initial workshop to identify your specific requirements and goals for the platform. For this purpose, we will work with you to design a reference architecture containing the most important platform components.
In this phase, we ensure that all stakeholders are on board and that their needs are addressed.
Step 2: Integration phase
In the integration phase, we go one step further: We integrate the platform components based on the reference architecture developed – but not in the production environment. The entire MVP takes place in a sandbox. Accordingly, you can test the best approach for your platform initiative without unnecessary friction losses.
Step 3: Deployment phase
Integration is followed by a practical test. User teams verify and validate functionality by deploying a first representative application on the platform. We collect the lessons learned as a base for subsequent modifications.
Step 4: Analysis phase
In the final analysis phase, we consolidate feedback from the first user teams. This provides the basis for fine-tuning the platform. You now have an initial presentable and functional platform and a backlog for further development.
In addition, we evaluate the data collected from the KPIs to clearly and measurably demonstrate the benefits of the MVP and the efficiency gains.
MVP as the starting point for your effective developer platform
Have you built a solid foundation for your platform initiative with an MVP and are you ready to take the next step?
In this case, we would be happy to help you put the developer platform into production. Further iterations will allow you to scale the added value of the platform across your entire software development.
