Why did we choose B Corp™ certification?
What's behind B Corp™?
The term B Corp™ – short for “B Corporation™” (the B here stands for “Benefit for all”) – is backed by the non-profit B Lab™. It is a non-profit network founded in 2006 that works to transform the global economic system to benefit all people, communities, and the planet. By its own account, its global network of organizations is leading the transition of the economic system to achieve a collective vision of an inclusive, fair, and regenerative economy.
How does B Corp™ align with codecentric?
At codecentric, we live a culture of constant exchange between equals. It is important for us to give all our colleagues the freedom they need to do the things they consider important – even beyond their actual work for our clients. The B Corp™ idea is therefore an excellent match for our corporate values – and at the same time provides us with a framework and guiding star for our future efforts in the various fields of CSR.

What was audited for certification?
The final certification process by B Corp™ included an in-depth assessment of the impact of our business activities on employees, customers, society, and the environment. In detail, B Lab™ evaluates companies in the following categories:
- Management
- Working conditions for employees
- Customer collaboration
- Support for the local community
- Environmental behavior
We now need to undergo a comprehensive assessment and verification process every three years in order to retain certification in the future. We will have to prove that we continue to meet the increasingly stringent BLab standards.
For us, this continuous evaluation is a particular incentive and one of the main reasons why we have chosen to achieve this certification.
You can find details of our rating on the B Corp™ website.

What does B Corp™ mean for our clients?
B Corp™ is a movement aimed at establishing responsible, environmentally sustainable and socially fair economies as the new status quo. More and more companies are becoming aware of this responsibility, and legal regulations such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and the EU Supply ChainAct
are also expected to provide more clarity in this area in the future.
We at codecentric have therefore deliberately decided to openly address the issue at an early stage through our B Corp™ certification and to meet our obligations – also for our clients relationships.
We will be happy to help you meet your obligations in relation to suppliers and partnerships when we work together on projects and you need the relevant documentation.
What does B Corp™ mean for our employees?
Employees rightly expect their employers not only to act in a business-oriented way, but also to assume ecological and social responsibility. What moves society does not end at the office door at the end of a working day.
Most of the activities that we as codecentric pursue in connection with CSR (customer social responsibility) are employee-driven – we provide the space for them. As an organization, we also take measures to consume more sustainably at corporate events, for example, or to continuously expand our mobility services. The possibilities are endless, but we also focus on what is important to our employees.
As an employee at our company, you always have the opportunity to contribute your ideas outside of the specific project and in doing so, play a part in making us a little bit better every day..
