On 15.12., the Solingen Founders and Technology Centre hosted the BERG-PITCH for the first time. GuT authorised signatory Sven Wagner expressed his pride in the Solinger Tageblatt:
"Here, the business know-how of the Bergisches Land meets young creative minds who enrich the corporate culture while at the same time benefiting from the feedback of potential investors".
At the 1st BERG-PITCH, five young companies had the chance to prove themselves in front of codecentric founder Mirko Novakovic and his six co-judges. They were each given eight minutes by host Thorsten Kabitz to present their business idea with a pitch, followed by a five-minute Q&A session.
The best "BERG Startup" of 2016 was Dominik Geldmacher's company "Duke" from Düsseldorf, which won over the jury and audience with an ecologically sustainable field rake.
Sven Wagner expressed his great satisfaction with the results of the first BERG-Pitch in the ST:
"By organising the first pitch event in the Bergisches Land, we wanted to encourage entrepreneurs to engage with the startup scene. We succeeded in that."
The BERG-PITCH is set to go into its second round as early as 11 May 2017 – this time at the new codecentric headquarters in Ohligs.
