Team Frankfurt is Moving
Frankfurt am Main has always been a city of connections and meeting points: historic half-timbered buildings alternate with glass facades of award-winning skyscraper architecture. Rustic apple wine taverns and traditional "Wasserhäuschen" (kiosks) are just as much a part of the cityscape as major banks and financial institutions. The most diverse people and cultures come together here, not least thanks to numerous diplomatic missions from abroad – and Frankfurt Airport, still one of the largest aviation hubs in Europe. The Main metropolis is also literally a hub when it comes to digitalization, as Frankfurt is home to the world's largest internet exchange point, DE-CIX.
The new office of codecentric AG in Frankfurt also aims to create connections. The premises, located in the office building called "Link", offer plenty of space for encounters and exchange across 800 square meters and a rooftop terrace. "Connecting teams, connecting clients, connecting people" – that is how location managers Felix Braun and Uwe Printz sum up the vision of their new office home. The space offers 42 workstations, some of which are reserved for codecentric partner UX&I. The interior design will be guided by the characteristic codecentric style, featuring the tried-and-tested glass walls, pastel tones, cozy seating areas and retreat spaces, combined with some industrial design elements.
The "Link" office building, constructed in 1996, is part of an urban ensemble consisting of four neighboring buildings with different uses (office, school, hotel). It features an underground parking garage with EV charging infrastructure and three elevators, making the 5th floor, where the codecentric office is located, fully accessible. Bicycle parking spaces will also be available.

A Meeting Point for Teams, Clients, and Community
Here in the Frankfurt-Bockenheim district, not only codecentric employees and clients will have the opportunity to code together and pursue their daily project work; the very active IT community in the Rhine-Main area will also have an even larger hub to gather at. "We already organize and host numerous meetups such as the Agile Stammtisch Frankfurt or IoT Hessen. Until now, however, the spatial options were quite limited", says Felix Braun. The meetup room in the previous office could accommodate a maximum of 40 participants. When heavily frequented, it quickly became cramped and stuffy – especially since the room was located directly next to railway tracks, making ventilation during talks difficult to impossible.
The new, spacious meetup room offers far more space. In addition, a modern air conditioning concept with cooling sails ensures a pleasant room climate throughout the year.
Communities wishing to use our spaces for events are welcome to contact Felix Braun or Uwe Printz directly.
Combining the Tried-and-Tested with the New
Not only people will come together in the new office; tried-and-tested working models and event concepts – as well as newly emerged ones, accelerated by the pandemic – will also find a synthesis here. Hybrid meetings with participants on-site and remote are set to become the norm as a complement to purely in-person gatherings on the one hand and purely Zoom conferences from the home office on the other – also thanks to modern video equipment and corresponding conference rooms. "After two years of working predominantly from home, we as a team will make more conscious use of our shared time in the office", says Uwe Printz. The expectations of the office environment have definitely changed during the period of working from home, which certainly has its advantages – even as codecentric employees are fundamentally looking forward to more in-person teamwork and socializing.
Thanks to video and audio equipment, the new Frankfurt office will also be able to host hybrid events, creating a synthesis of in-person and online events here as well. After all, one of the greatest challenges of the future world of work will likely be creating sufficient interfaces between the physical and virtual worlds following two years of pandemic, including seamless transitions. The goal is to offer employees, clients, and the community the best of both worlds while continuing to ensure flexibility.
Frankfurt employees won't have to get used to a new commute, however: the office is located just around the corner from the old premises at Westbahnhof and directly next to the Novotel, which also continues to make it considerably easier for visitors from out of town to get there. And so codecentric employees in Frankfurt can continue to enjoy writing code between main() and the Main river, with a view of the skyline.
